# Profile Setup

## **Sign up for Good Freshers**

You can [sign up for GoodFreshers app](https://app.goodfreshers.com/login) with your Google account ([**Google SSO**](https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/12849458)) or Email + Password.

Our system recognizes if you’re a new or existing user and guides you to the right page to set up or enter your password.

**Verify Email:** You will receive an one-time password to verify your email if you sign up with email + password.

## **About Section**

The **About** section allows you to introduce yourself to recruiters and anyone you choose to share your verified profile with, highlighting your professional identity.

## **Profile Summary**

A brief introduction about who you are, what you’re studying or working on, the kind of roles you’re targeting, along with your key achievements and trust factors.

### Why it matters

* It’s the **first thing** recruiters read.
* Helps recruiters understand your direction and interests.
* Sets context for your skills, projects, and experience.

## **Email Address**

Your primary contact email, used for notifications, updates, and verification.

  Used for account verification, job-related updates, and recruiter communication (if visibility is enabled). **Use an email you check daily.**

## **Phone Number**

A direct way for recruiters to reach you if they are interested in your profile.

## **Date of Birth**

Used to understand your age group and eligibility for specific programs or roles.

  Helps with eligibility for certain fresher or internship roles, personalizes your job recommendations, and keeps your profile records accurate.

## **Gender**

Your gender identity.

### Why we collect this

* Some companies run diversity-driven hiring programs
* Improves the accuracy of job matching
* Helps recruiters looking for diversity-focused candidates

## **Marital Status**

Your current marital status.

  Sometimes required during pre-onboarding and for relocation/benefit eligibility, **but it does not affect your job recommendations.**

## **Address / Location**

Your current city and state.

## **Languages**

Languages you can speak, read, or write.

External links where your work or online presence can be viewed.

## **Recruiter Visibility**

A toggle that decides whether recruiters can discover your profile.

  Turning this on makes your profile visible and searchable to recruiters, allowing them to reach out directly. If turned off, your profile remains private and is not visible to recruiters.

## **Purpose of the About Section**

This section helps:

* Personalize recommendations

A detailed About section increases your chances of getting noticed.
